Day 1 - Today everyone will arrive in Nelson,(whether you get here on your own or we pick you up at the airport) You'll get the paperwork taken care of and meet your bike and your guide. Tonight is up to you, the Heritage inn where you will be staying offers three different eating and drinking establishments to choose from or you can explore the beautiful heritage town of Nelson.
Day 2 - After a leisurely breakfast we will head south on hwy 6 through Salmo and rumble to the top of Kootenay Pass at 1774 meters. After a stop by the little mountain lake at Stag leap Provincial Park we'll roll down the other side of the pass into the incredibly lush Creston valley. From Creston we ride the famous highway 3A ( rated one of Canada's top motorcycling roads ) as it twists and winds it's way along the shore of Kootenay lake. Lunch will be at the Sirdar Pub, a neat little place above the lake with excellent food and very friendly people. At the end of this spectacular piece of road the world's longest free ferry will deposit us on the other side of Kootenay lake, where a short jaunt north will take us to Ainsworth, the first community to be established on Kootenay lake in 1883. The hot springs include a hot pool, warm pool, and cold plunge, but the best part is the horseshoe shaped cave with multicoloured mineral formations hanging from the walls and ceiling, and a cascade of hot mineral water at the back of the cave creating a natural steam bath !
